3 years ago Hi!
I've downloaded the «VA - PureSound Sessions Yearmix 2007 Mixed by Danyi» this causes that i am here :)
So the question is:
Is it a real-time mix or it was made by an audio editing software (such as Adobe Audition) ?
I have tried to find the email adress of Danyi in order to ask him, but i didnt find it. |

3 years ago hey
i guess, if you have the yearmix, you enjoyed it! thats nice!
Of course its not real-time mix:-) as every such big mix, this one too, it was recorded by a software = its a studio mix
the big djs record their mixes by software too...Its almost impossible to record such mix live, coz many edits are needed for it!
wanna live mix? tune in on 9th of February to PureSound.fm (announce is coming up). There will be PureSound.fm 1st anniversary special with many live mixes from DJ from all over the world (me included :-) |

Yes, i really enjoy this mix. Nice job!
I randomly found this mix and this site, respectively.
When i've seen the tracklist i immediately thought that it has to be a very good yearmix. Good selection of songs.
Let's back to topic:
In the past i also made some «studio mix» with Adobe Audition ( originally CoolEdit Pro). The most boring part was the exact setting of the BPMs of every track. If i use a BPM detection software and then apply the results in Audition then i always have to correct the stretching effect. This is the reason for that i manually calculate teh BPM ( i select two instant time in the graphical view, where the wave has same shape, and using the time distance and the beats between them i can calculate the BPM ).
My question is:
Is there any software or method to do the BPM settings more comfortable ?
I am looking for a software which can visually adjust the length of the wave (and therefore the BPM).
I found one: MIXCRAFT
http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/webhelp/hs2140.htm
It has a feature called «FlexAudio» (see the link above for more details)
But the main problem with this software is that i only can stretch the wave by stretching the ending point.
The good method would be that if i could drag any certain point in the graphical view and i could stretch it visually.
I hope that u understand the sentences above :) ( my english is not so good ) :)
Finally:
I am looking for a suitable software for creating studio mixes at home.
I wanted to create an eurodance mix from 90's songs because one of my friend asked me :)

3 years ago yeah i know what you mean..seems, u ve used the wrong software...
try Mixmeister or Ableton Live
Ableton Live is more difficult and sophisticated ...try both softwares, they are available as trial version too and u will see whats better for you...
Mixmeister detect BMP and beatmatch automaticaly ... Ableton too, but you have to set many settings :)) |

3 years ago One of the best software for studio mixing is MixMeister. It can do just about anything that you want. The learning curve is really high because it comes bundled with video tutorials. You'll learn how to use it in no time. Only the subtle aspects of this application can be learned in time ...
LE: Danyi was quicker :P |

I've already tried them in the past, but ...
Thanks!
I'll back and share my experiences.

3 years ago Az first glance, mixmeister looks pretty basic, but after i've seen the tutorial videos i changed my mind.
The most powerful feature ( for me ) is the song slicer. It' amazing. That's what i wanted. Tracks with non-constant BPM are handleable using this simple tool. Cool.
Thanks guys!
